Fossilsofla 262W

Alright #fossilsofLA friends and family, today is #fossilfriday and it’s also my last day working at @nhmla and the #LACMIP collection

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Katy, assistant collections manager and face behind this account. I’ll be passing social media duties on to the rest of the team, so you’ll still see posts, don’t worry! For my final post I thought I would pose with one of my all time favorite specimens, this giant block of Natlandite, which is the official “gemstoneof Los Angeles and full of Pliocene invertebrate fossils! It’s also the final stop on my collection tours, so it’s a fitting final post.

For anyone interested in continuing to follow me, I’ll be the new Invertebrate Paleontology Collections Manager for the @acadnatsci and I’ll be upping the fossil content on my personal insta @katyfossillady. Thanks for all of your fossil enthusiasm, friends! I’ll miss you!
